Our Story
My name is Alexia Barquet, and I am the owner and trainer behind Rapidfire Retrievers. My journey began four years ago when I started working as a kennel technician for a boarding facility. What started as a simple job quickly turned into my passion when I was offered a training position. From there, I spent a year working for a dog training company in the panhandle of Florida. After years of working under others, I knew in my heart that I wanted to create my own training program one built on compassion, communication, and letting dogs be dogs. The inspiration came from the first dog I ever trained myself: my Labrador Retriever, Karma. She opened my eyes to the world of retrievers and sparked a lifelong love for the breed. Today, I share my life with Karma and Ava, my two duck-hunting labs. They are absolute beasts in the field and complete babies at home. Their personalities fast, precise, driven, and full of life inspired the name Rapidfire Retrievers.
I am a reward-based balanced trainer, but above all, I believe in training the dog in front of me. Every dog learns differently, and I use the methods that best suit their needs, temperament, and motivations. My philosophy is simple: dogs are not robots. They need structure, yes, but they also need play, rest, fun, and freedom to express who they are. My training blends all of those things together.
Located on the Northeast Coast of Florida, in Bunnell, I work with all dogs every breed, every size, every age. My most popular service is my Day Training Program, where dogs spend full days learning, playing, socializing, and getting the structure they need to thrive.
At Rapidfire Retrievers, my mission is rooted in one belief:

On a personal note I love God, and I love dogs, and I like to say God spelled backward is Dog. Dogs have shaped me into the person I am today, and I put that same love, gratitude, and purpose into every dog that walks through my doors.
